A while ago Ron presented his new guitar, not knowing exactly at that time, which pickups to put into this beauty. Well, the descision has been made and here is, what finally made it…

Most of you will be familiar with Mr. Bill Steer, well known for his awesome guitar work in Carcass, Napalm Death and Firebird. But did you know, that this guy has his own signature pickup set?

It’s was co-designed by the man himself and build by a small London based manufacturer called Monty’s Guitars.

This pickup set delivers exactly what Ron was looking for…
– a warm low/medium output alnico neck pickup with a rich, somehow classic rock tone
– ⁠a medium/high output alnico bridge pickup with a nice dynamic range and a dark growl to it
– ⁠a more like PAF (vintage) sound in both PUs, but still hot enough for wide metal tones

With their alnico 4 (neck) and alnico 6 (bridge) magnets, these pickups shall perform very well for the tone Ron is looking for!
